Matthew Gasper, LEP, President
Matthew Gasper has over thirty years of experience in environmental consulting. As our founder, Matthew has been responsible for project management and the coordination of all field activities. He has conducted site transfer audits (comprehensive site investigations including a review of chemical usage on-site, underground storage facilities and site history), and industrial compliance audits. He also has extensive comprehensive experience preparing audit reports, stating observations and providing recommendations toward compliance with local, state and federal environmental regulations.
Matthew has conducted over 9,000 environmental audits for financial institutions and national corporations throughout the United States. Matthew has vast expertise with Florida Administrative Codes 62-550, 62-761, 62-770, 62-775.
Matthew is a Certified Florida Environmental Assessor and Licensed Environmental Professional (LEP), member of the Florida Environmental Assessors Association, Registered Environmental Site Assessor (National Registry of Environmental Professionals) and has completed OSHA 40 Hour Health & Safety Training as well as OSHA 8 Hour Supervisor Health & Safety Training.
Shannon Nelson, MSP, LEP, Chief Operating Officer
Shannon Nelson joined EAS, Inc in 2016 and is EAS’ Chief Operating Officer. Shannon’s primary responsibilities include project management and business development. Shannon manages projects that consist of Phase I Site Assessments, Transaction Screening Processes and Records Search and Risk Assessments. Prior to joining EAS, Shannon gained experience in working with environmental and real estate/ land use litigation for a private law firm as well as environmental legislation while working in the Florida Senate. Her background includes experience with Florida growth management statutes as well as grant writing in the State of Florida, with special attention to domestic water contamination, economic vitality, and sea level rise.
Shannon is an International Society of Technical and Environmental Professionals, Inc (INSTEP) Licensed Environmental Professional (LEP) #414 as of November 2021.
Shannon holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science and a Masters of Science in Planning degree in Environmental Planning and Natural Resource Development/Real Estate Development from Florida State University.
Jeanette Burton, Environmental Specialist II
Jeanette Burton joined EAS, Inc in 2021 as an environmental specialist. Jeanette is a Tampa native and a graduate from Elon University. Jeanette’s responsibilities include historic background research for environmental assessments, assisting with site inspections, and environmental report compilations. Jeanette is passionate about environmental conservation, field research, environmental protection and remediation as well as science education. Her background includes wetlands research and delineations.
Jeanette is a member in good standing of the International Society of Technical and Environmental Professionals, Inc (INSTEP) and completed the Phase I Environmental training course in November 2021.
Jeanette holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental and Ecological Sciences with a minor in Biology from Elon University.
Savannah Parks, MS, Natural Resource Specialist
Savannah Parks joined EAS in 2019 as a staff scientist with a specialization in wetland delineations, permitting and comprehensive environmental assessments. Savannah works directly with stakeholders to navigate and translate environmental policy at a local, state, and federal level. Prior to working at EAS, she worked as a project manager amongst engineers on a variety of civil development, grant funded, and public and private projects. Savannah holds licenses to survey, excavate, and relocate the endangered gopher tortoise as well. Savannah additionally performs site visits for Phase I Environmental Assessments.
Savannah is a member in good standing of the International Society of Technical and Environmental Professionals, Inc (INSTEP) and completed the Phase I Environmental training course in November 2022.
Savannah holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science from Florida State University and a Master of Science in Forestry Resources and Conservation with a specialty in Natural Resource Policy from the University of Florida.
Evan Wimberly, Senior Environmental Specialist
Evan Wimberly joined EAS, Inc in 2026 as Senior Environmental Specialist. Evan’s role is central to provide the core services of EAS, including the performance and management of Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, including project oversight, report preparation, site inspections and client coordination. Prior to joining our team, Evan has experience in the real estate industry as well as working for the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP). His background includes experience geospatial data development, environmental regulatory compliance, remediation project management, and technical review of environmental reports.
In 2026, Evan completed ASTM’s training program for proficiency in Phase I Site Assessments, Transaction Screening Processes, and Phase II Site Assessments.
Evan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography with a minor in Environmental Science and Policy from Florida State University.
Lauren Squires, Environmental Scientist
Lauren Squires joined EAS, Inc in 2026 as an environmental scientist. Lauren brings experience in environmental compliance, regulatory inspections, and water-quality monitoring. Prior to joining EAS, Lauren worked with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP), where she gained experience in compliance inspections of regulated facilities, reviewed environmental assessment, sampling reports and evaluated sites for potential environmental impacts. Lauren’s role involves performance and completion of EAS’ core services.
In 2026, Lauren completed ASTM’s training program for proficiency in Phase I Site Assessments, Transaction Screening Processes, and Phase II Site Assessments.
Lauren holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science and Policy from University of South Florida with a concentration in Sustainability.
Sarah Myers, Environmental Policy and Research Intern
Sarah Myers is an Environmental Policy and Research Intern with EAS, where she assists with environmental due diligence research and the preparation of Phase I Environmental Assessments. Her work includes reviewing regulatory databases, historic records, and other resources to evaluate past property uses and identify potential environmental concerns.
In 2026, Sarah completed ASTM’s training program for proficiency in Phase I Site Assessments, Transaction Screening Processes, and Phase II Site Assessments.
Sarah is pursuing a degree in Environmental Studies at Eckerd College, minoring in law and justice (pre-law track). Her academic background includes environmental health, policies, GIS, and environmental biology.
Jia Johnson, Honorary Team Member, “Vibe Checker”
Jia joined EAS for the summer of 2026 as an analyst for her capstone project at University of Florida while completion of her Master of Data Science. She is the type of person that elevated those around here by simply being apart of the team.
While she is no longer on payroll, she is permanently on our roster in spirit- frequently discussed, greatly missed, and welcome back at any time (seriously). We are beyond grateful for her help on our team, and thankful for all her time and effort.
